I'm going by memory here, but I think I was able to find the next step by reading the tablets in the cave behind Marta's Cottage and talking with a certain NPC in Savella Cathedral to be more precise he appears at the top of the stairs at the entrance, and possibly only at night. There's a guy near the shopping area who talks about a pirate's cave. That should give you enough clues. Whatever doesn't kill you, is either slow-acting or doesn't try hard enough. There's nothing really of interest inside the inn besides the whole "being able to rest" aspect so when you're ready to proceed simply head up the stairs leading into the cathedral.

Check the place out and then go around behind the cathedral itself. At the top of the stairs there is an odd structure with a large tube leading out of it.
