I always thought of the Xterra as the "faux rugged" trim level of the Pathfinder kind of like the Outback was to the Legacy before they separated the Subaru models and made em different.

It can get up to 20 mpg in the city and up to 27 mpg on the highway. The Nissan Pathfinder comes with one engine option, with is a 3. It can tow up to 6, lb, making it more capable than rivals.
